Final blog post

Media and technology changes are rapid and hard to keep up with.

I now utilise the Chalet One Facebook page for news and photo’s.

You can easily link to it from the chalet web site www.ChaletOne.com

See you all there……

On Thursday evening 11/02/16 we had 25cm of powder and woke to blue skies.

Chef Will & I rushed out with the clients for fresh tracks but both of us had to return, him to cook & me to fix a broken loo.

The loo was fixed by 2.30pm & I decided to head back up to the slopes.

From leaving the door to sitting on the piste at the top of the third lift (2620M) – forty minutes!!

Including booting up and walking from my car to the first lift.

This was taking it easy not rushing & using three ski lifts.

I took the above shot on the way down.

We have discounted rooms to the end of the season saving you £100pp on any week.

The snow is fantastic!

After a slow start snow wise it has not stopped falling since New Years Day. Although off piste remains tricky (& dangerous) the amount of snow we now have is amazing.

In fact there is so much in places that it’s been hard to keep lifts open!

We have had some great reviews on both Facebook & Tripadvisor  & would like to thank those guests that have taken the time.

With Will & Hannah living at Chalet One we will also be open for summer this year.

See you soon.

Andy.

Here at Chalet One we are gathering in the wood as the leaves turn & the mornings become crisp with frosts.

The lovely Will & Hannah will be hosting again this season, indeed they will be staying for several seasons & we intend to open during the summer as well.

I have had Dan the painter in, Will & I will be driving one of my large vans out shortly with new carpets & luxury Hypnos beds.

We all genuinely look forward to another fantastic season in the Alp’s meeting old friends & making new.

Book now for Christmas or New Year

See you all soon.

Torquay Alpine Ski Club comes to Chalet One…

We are very pleased to welcome five instructors from one of the UK’s oldest ski clubs.

Torquay Alpine Ski Club.

Started in the harsh winter of 1963 the club has over 300 members & in excess of 1000 visitors during ‘the season’.

It was the first outdoor artificial ski slope in the UK on land donated by Sir Fred Pontin.

The instructors will be staying with us in early March & ski ing Ste Foy, Les Arcs, La Rosiere…

A day in the life….

With 13 guests en route to us for this week & being full until week 22/02/14, the last thing we needed was the dishwasher to break down.

Whilst I was wading through flooded Somerset on Friday that’s exactly the call I got from Kris out at Chalet One.

After some basic fault finding –  I decided that a new one was called for.

This isn’t easy on a Friday evening with less than 24 hours to a full chalet however with some phone calls to Russell who lives in St Etienne and the use of the internet to view the machines he was actually looking at we got there.

Many thanks to Russell ( & Joelle) who bought, delivered & installed the new machine just before the guests turned up.

Kris has confirmed it’s super silent & has hung up his emergency marigolds – phew!
